She talks how death and dying was a taboo subject among her colleagues but time and again patients wanted honesty and wanted to be around people when they were dying ruedz not alone. Her story is an adventure of the heart — powerful, controversial, inspirational — a fitting legacy of a powerful life.
She, in her later years, studied dying patients and her work explores her work and what she learned. In general, individuals experience most of these stages, though in no defined sequence, after being faced with the reality of their impending death. It still sucks but now I can look beyond the suckiness to my greater purpose: She gave an abundance of comfort, love, and good news in this book, and clarified for me what my ultimate life’s goal should be, and it makes perfect sense.
